Arnar Herbertsson

Arnar Herbertsson, born in 1933. Arnar studied at the School of Visual Arts in Reykjavík. He is one of the SÚM group who began to show innovative art in the late sixties. He is otherwise a unique figure in the art world. After "Pop Art" he painted his somewhat surreal pictures of herring piers in Siglufjörður. Along with symbolic altarpieces in a "national" style. A fun mix of entertaining "Cuban" and "surral" effect can be found in some of Arnar's work of Siglufjörður.
