Gunnlaugur Blöndal
Gunnlaugur Blöndal, 1893-1962, studied at the Art Academy in Copenhagen and in Oslo and Paris. He was considered one of the best and most well known artists of his time. His paintings are characterized by a soft and lyrical quality. His parents and two brothers lived in Siglufjörður, where he stayed from time to time, painting many images of the herring port.
