Kristinn Pétursson

Kristinn Pétursson, 1891-1981, studied at the Academy in Oslo as well as in Copenhagen and Paris. His works are poetically abstract. Kristinn painted in Siglufjörður over several summers between 1938-1947 and one can clearly see the development of his style during this period. His painting of the herring factory Dr. Paul, call to mind the spirit and philosophy of the Russian painter Kandinsky.
